Find Happiness in Keeping a One-Sentence Journal by Natalie Shoemaker. "Even people who deny the possibility of being happy, if you say do you think you could be happier? They’ll say, 'Yeah, I could be happier.' Sometimes I think it’s easier to think about being happier, for what ever that means to you then worrying about what is happiness and what would life be if I finally achieved this ultimate happiness?"

In 1887, intrepid reporter Nellie Bly pretended she was crazy and got herself committed, all to help improve conditions in a New York City mental institution. “The insane asylum on Blackwell’s Island is a human rat-trap. It is easy to get in, but once there it is impossible to get out.”

Anthropology, the study of humankind, should be the first of all the sciences our children encounter, writes Marc Brightman, with its singular capacity to inspire the imagination, broaden the mind and open the heart. Moves to downgrade it in the education system by those who know the price of everything, and the value of nothing, must be fought off.

When will the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait community be understood and there culture appreciated. Warren Mundine has told SBS Tony Abbott's comment suggesting Indigenous Australians were making 'lifestyle choices' to live in remote communities was 'silly' but does not detract from the need for a national conversation on the issue.

Why are we called MoonDaisy? it is in honor of our much loved dogs who sadly passed away within one month of each other. SVETLANA: MoonDog's name came from was a children's story I wrote. Reggie became my muse for the illustrations - and this name has stuck! Moon Dog became a bit of a legend around the kid lit writers in LA and even attended some of the retreats my friend Dawne and I facilitated. He has hobnobbed with literary agents and editors from the big publishing houses in the US. What a dog! MAIREAD: Daisy was a much loved mutt. I was very unwell for a number of years and I had a companion dog named Bobbie. As I began to heal and get out into the world I brought Daisy into our lively home to be a companion for Bobbie when I wasn't there. Sadly both Bob and Days are gone now but their memories will live on. Reg Moon Dog and Daisy were our shadows, always there next to us and never left our sides. They were incredibly smart and did all sorts of tricks and were always so eager to please. We loved them so!

My friend and colleague Svetlana and I are venturing out together to offer creative events to inspire curiosity and involvement in nature, history and the present day, to some of our newest immigrants. We [particularly focus on local landscapes and the traditional owners of the space while learning about traditional Aboriginal stories involving community spaces.
